Both cases are related to the school outbreak, and had been receiving follow-up care as they were known to have been exposed to persons with measles infection. Information bulletin ➞ February 24 2019 Measles in VCH Measles in VCH Information bulletin ➞ February 22 2019 Additional measles cases confirmed Vancouver, BC – Two additional cases of measles infection have been identified in the Lower Mainland. Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) has determined that one infection is linked to a previously known case of measles. The source of the second infection has not been identified and is under investigation. For the majority of people who may have been in contact with confirmed cases it is too late to take preventative action and we are asking them to monitor for symptoms. If you develop symptoms of measles, contact your health care provider. Please call ahead to make sure precautions can be taken to prevent transmission of measles to others. Information bulletin ➞ February 15 2019 More measles cases confirmed in Vancouver Vancouver, BC – A total of eight measles infections have been identified in Vancouver this week. Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) Medical Health Officers determined that the first infection was acquired outside of North America. VCH is notifying people who were known to be in contact with the case, and is urging under-vaccinated or unvaccinated individuals among them to be immunized. Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) Medical Health Officers determined that this infection was acquired locally. This is the second case of measles in Vancouver this month.
